Getting back into surf

Need to get my sojo (surf mojo) back. 2/4/2012 got new MS Rip Curl Dawn Patrol and a new/used surfboard Webber - Sonic 6'6". Dan at Sonlight said this should feel like a longboard b/c of my size. Should be able to snake waves!
